Dr. Fabienne Meier-Abt, MD PhD, studied biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, UK, obtained a Doctor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, USA, a PhD in experimental breast cancer research at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research, Basel CH, and is board-certified in clinical hematology (FMH Hematology). During a personalized health and related technologies (PHRT) transition postdoctoral fellowship at the ETH Zurich, Fabienne gained expertise in proteomic analyses for rare FACS-isolated hematopoietic cells, which she now applies to malignant B cell clones with a special focus on hairy cell leukemia (HCL). From January 2021 onwards, Fabienne will be working clinically in medical genetics focusing on hemato-oncological genetics whilst continuing her research work with Thorsten Zenz’s laboratory. Her main research interests are the proteogenomic characterization of blood cancers and its integration with functional and clinical data.
